Chocolate Crinkle-top Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate morsels DIVIDED
  • 1 1/2 cups al-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 Tablespoons butter or margarine softened
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Microwave ONE CUP of morsels on high power for one minute; stir.
  2. Microwave at 10-20 second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  3. Cool to room temperature.
  4. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in small bowl.
  5. Beat sugar, butter, and vanilla in large mixer bowl until crumbly.
  6. Beat in melted chocolate.
  7. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  8. Gradually beat in flour mixture.
  9. Stir in REMAINING morsels.
  10. Cover; chill until just firm.
  11. Shape into 1 1/2-inch balls; roll into powdered sugar.
  12. Place on ungreased baking sheets.
  13. Bake in pre-heated 350 degree oven for 10-15 minutes or until sides set but
  14. centers are still slightly soft.
  15. Cool for 2 mintes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
