White chocolate cranberry cookies Page 2638

White chocolate cranberry cookies bring together two contrasting flavors that make every bite interesting: creamy sweetness from white chocolate and a bright, slightly tart taste from dried cranberries. These cookies are easy enough for everyday baking but special enough for holiday gatherings, cookie exchanges, and homemade gifts. Their soft texture, chewy center, and colorful appearance make them a reliable favorite when you want a treat that feels a little more distinctive than a classic chocolate chip cookie.

Smore Cookie Bars

  • 1/2 cup butter room temperature
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 1/3 cups All purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup graham cracker crumbs (about 8 graham crackers)
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 king-sized milk chocolate bars
  • 1 1/2 cups marshmallow creme/fluff (not melted marshmallows)

White Chocolate Cranberry Cookies for Any Occasion The appeal of these cookies comes from the balance between rich and fruity flavors. White chocolate adds a smooth, buttery sweetness, while dried cranberries provide a pleasantly tangy contrast. For extra texture, chopped pecans or walnuts can be folded into the dough, although the cookies are equally enjoyable without nuts. A small amount of vanilla and a pinch of salt can also sharpen the overall flavor without overpowering the main ingredients. For the best results, avoid overbaking the cookies. Taking them from the oven when the edges are lightly golden and the centers still look slightly soft helps preserve a chewy texture as they cool. Chilling the dough before baking can also help the cookies hold their shape and develop a richer flavor. These simple details can make a noticeable difference in the finished batch.

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and/or line an 8-inch square baking pan.
  2. 2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  3. 3. In a small bowl, whisk together flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking powder and salt. Add to butter mixture and mix at a low speed until combined. Divide dough in half and press half of dough into an even layer on the bottom of the prepared pan.
  4. 4. Place chocolate bars over dough (2 king-sized Hershey?s bars should fit perfectly side by side, but break the chocolate if necessary to get it to fit in a single layer no more than 1/4 inch thick).
  5. 5. Spread the marshmallow fluff over the chocolate.
  6. 6. Place remaining dough in a single layer on top of the fluff (most easily achieved by flattening the dough into small shingles or panels and laying them together).
  7. 7. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until lightly browned. Cool completely before cutting into bars.

White chocolate cranberry cookies are a wonderful example of how a few familiar ingredients can create a dessert with plenty of personality. The combination of creamy white chocolate, tart cranberries, and a soft, chewy cookie offers enough contrast to keep every bite interesting. Whether served with coffee, packed into a lunchbox, or arranged on a holiday dessert table, they bring a warm homemade touch to almost any occasion. What makes these cookies especially appealing is their flexibility. You can add toasted nuts for crunch, adjust the amount of cranberries for a stronger fruit flavor, or keep the recipe simple for a classic combination. With careful baking and a little attention to texture, a basic cookie dough becomes a treat that looks festive and tastes thoughtfully made.
