White Chocolate Cranberry Bars Recipe
Ingredients
- 2-1/4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 cup coarsely chopped frozen cranberries
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 12 ounce package white vanilla chips
- 1 tablespoon shortening
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350 then grease rectangular baking pan.
- In large bowl combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt then mix well.
- In another large bowl combine brown sugar, sugar and butter then beat until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs 1 at a time beating well after each addition then add vanilla and blend well.
- Gradually add flour mixture then blend at low speed just until combined.
- Fold in cranberries, walnuts and 1-1/2 cups vanilla chips.
- Spread batter in greased pan and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
- In small saucepan over low heat melt reserved vanilla chips and shortening stirring occasionally.
- Drizzle over warm bars then cool 1 hour then cut into bars.
