Brown Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips optional
  • 1 cup chopped pecans optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Cream together crisco, butter, brown sugar, egg, & vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Gradually add flour, baking soda, & salt. Stir in the mini chocolate chips & pecans by hand (if using). Roll into 1 inch balls & bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 10-12 minutes. Let them cool for 1 minute after baking to let them set up before moving them to a cooling rack.
